If Only Missouri Crickets Could Do This...

Apparently, black field crickets in Hawaii have evolved wings that don't chirp. Which means these crickets are basically totally quiet instead of annoyingly loud and incessent like the crickets here in Missouri. It also means they can't use their chirping to attract a mate, so I guess it's not really a good thing for the crickets. But just imagine how nice it would be to spend a night camping and not hear a single cricket....actually, I think that would be weird. Alright, I will admit it, I kinda like the sound of crickets.
