Recommended Book Of The Week

This week I am recommending "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.

If you are a fan of The Lord Of The Rings series, either in book or movie format, it is imperative that you read this book. "The Hobbit" is the story of Bilbo Baggins, who is Frodo's uncle, and tells how he first came into possession of the ring. It's a great adventure and a prequel for "The Fellowship Of The Ring".

Rumor has it that this story was developed by Tolkien as a bed-time story for his children, which may explain why some readers think it has more of a childish feel to it's whimsical plot than the trilogy that followed it. However, I disagree. I find it an entertaining read and a great chance to become more connected to Bilbo and the rest of Middle-Earth.
